Course Overview
| Aviation Security (AVSEC) General is a mandatory training program designed to ensure that all personnel involved in aviation operations understand, implement, and maintain effective security practices. This course provides foundational knowledge on aviation security threats, regulatory requirements, and the measures necessary to safeguard people, property, and aviation infrastructure. The program reinforces the importance of preventing unlawful interference, protecting sensitive operational areas, and ensuring compliance with the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) regulations. It introduces participants to core security principles, including access control, passenger and baggage security, cargo screening requirements, behavioural awareness, and emergency response procedures. This training aligns with the security obligations outlined in the South African Civil Aviation Regulations. It is compulsory for all personnel whose duties involve access to restricted areas, handling of passengers or cargo, operational control, or any function that may impact the integrity of aviation security. Completion of the AVSEC General course ensures that employees are aware of their security responsibilities and are equipped to identify, report, and respond to potential threats, thereby supporting a secure and resilient aviation environment. |
